Our Story
Forest School
Learning, confidence, and connection — rooted in nature
“There are two gifts we should give our children — one is roots, and the other is wings.”
Our Forest School sessions give children the time and space to explore, create, and grow through meaningful experiences in the natural world. Led by trained practitioners, sessions are child-led, play-based, and designed to nurture confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.
We run sessions for local schools during term time and dedicate Wednesday afternoons to home-educated children, offering small groups, flexible learning, and opportunities for social connection in a low-pressure environment.

What is Forest School?
Forest School is a long-term, nature-based approach to learning that supports the whole child. Rather than following a fixed curriculum, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity — developing skills, confidence, and independence at their own pace.
Sessions take place at school sites or at Billy's Lake and may include:
-
Free and imaginative play
-
Nature exploration and observation
-
Age-appropriate tool use woodland skills
-
Creative activities using natural materials
-
Group games and shared experiences
There’s no expectation to perform, achieve, or “keep up” — just space to be themselves.
If you’re unsure whether Forest School is right for your child, we welcome you to get in touch and offer a discounted taster session.
